Exploring Love in Parenting – A Special Webinar

On 13th September 2024, I had the privilege of collaborating with Amy Chien-Yu Wang, the creator of the AI May Theatre Production, in a Zoom webinar titled "Exploring Love in Parenting". The session was also available for playback on YouTube for those who could not attend live.

In traditional Chinese culture, love is often expressed in ways that can unintentionally harm relationships. Parents may act out of love but sometimes inadvertently cause emotional pain to their children, not realizing the impact. This phenomenon can be likened to a generational mental health debt, where emotional wounds are passed down through the generations.

In this webinar, we discussed how these emotional traumas often go unrecognized, and how they can affect the well-being of the next generation. Our hope is that by recognizing these patterns and focusing on healing in our generation, we can begin to pay off this mental health debt and break the cycle for future generations.

We are committed to creating awareness and providing tools for healing, so that love in parenting can truly be a source of growth, understanding, and connection, rather than causing harm.
